Weddings

The Bear has hosted a number of very successful wedding receptions.  We are flexible on format & would love to chat to you about your celebration.

We are happy to offer the pub on an exclusive hire basis, and do not ask for a venue charge - just a reasonable minimum spend.  Alternatively some couples with a small group of guests prefer to take over an area of the pub. 

Please call us to discuss, we treat each party individually & will build a quote for exactly what you want.

Our maximum capacities are as follows:

Drinks, canapes & disco - 200 people (exclusive hire)

Sit down meal - 130 people (exclusive hire)

Smaller parties of any size are also very welcome  - call to discuss

What we offer:

A wonderfully designed, inviting, spacious venue with stylish furnishings. 

Fully stocked bar, and our lovely experienced bar & waiting staff on hand

Great dancefloor area in the Orange Room.  We have our own lighting, PA system & speakers which you can use at no extra cost (so all you have to pay for is the DJ)

A menu designed for you.  Our head chef  will work with you to create your perfect menu.  This could be a buffet, a sit down 3 course meal, canapes, barbecues, curries, Thai food - whatever you would like.   

We have an expert team at your disposal, so can help with all aspects of the organisation.  We have lists of recommended DJs, florists, musicians, linen suppliers etc.  

Bear Flat offers many accommodation options, from stylish hotels to traditional B&Bs.  We have an accommodation list to help your guests.  We also have a large car park , which makes life so much easier on the day.

Our expert pastry chef has created some delicious wedding cakes, from traditional fruit, to strawberry gateaux & croquembouche (profiterole tower).

 

We also cater for weddings at other venues.  So far we have supplied piping hot pie & chips for 80 on a boat, coq au vin for 100 at a village hall & cold buffet for 50 at home.  See the 'mobile bar & catering section' on our website for more information.
